James Kinder is a true DC native who brings a unique mix of business savvy and creative edge to the team. A graduate of George Washington University with a degree in Business, James has a deep background in customer service and managerial leadership—skills he uses daily to keep things smooth and on point. Outside of work, he’s either rolling on the mat as an avid MMA and grappling enthusiast or composing music in his home studio. A multi-instrumentalist, James plays everything from guitar to keys—and if you press the last option on our company phone menu, you’ll hear him on the piano.

I’ve been a proud member of the Stay Attache family for about a year and six months now.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN YOUR CURRENT CITY?
I’ve lived in Washington, D.C. my entire life.

WHAT NEIGHBORHOOD DO YOU LIVE IN?
I grew up near Benning Road NE, a close-knit and family-oriented neighborhood.

FAVORITE PLACES IN YOUR CITY:
One of my favorite hidden gems in D.C. is a peaceful trail known locally as The Fields. It leads to a serene fishing river and features a small botanical garden, along with an educational board highlighting the wildlife native to the area.

FAVORITE PLACE TO TAKE OUT-OF-TOWN GUESTS:
When guests come to visit, I love taking them to The Wharf or the Georgetown Waterfront. Both areas are vibrant, full of energy, and offer a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options.

FAVORITE RESTAURANTS:
Some of my favorite spots to eat in D.C. include True Luck, King Oyster, Silver Diner, Pinstripes, and Stripes Italian Bistro. Each offers a unique vibe and delicious food.

MY FAVORITE WAY TO GET AROUND THE CITY:
I typically use Uber or the D.C. Metro rail. The Metro is especially convenient for exploring the city, particularly for sightseeing.

FAVORITE CONCERTS:
Some of the best concerts I’ve attended include Coldplay, New Edition, Tyler the Creator, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and 50 Cent.

FAVORITE PLACES TO TRAVEL:
I love traveling and some of my favorite destinations so far have been Orlando, Alaska, Texas, Jamaica, California, and Nashville, Tennessee.

TRAVEL DESTINATIONS YET TO VISIT:
I’m looking forward to exploring Bali, Japan, Canada, Thailand, Nigeria, and Ghana in the future.

EDUCATION & HOBBIES:
I graduated from American University with a degree in Business Administration. Outside of work, I’m deeply passionate about music—I’m a musician, singer, and producer. While music is more than just a hobby for me, I enjoy spending my spare time creating and performing. I also practice mixed martial arts and maintain a strong interest in fitness, as both allow me to express myself and stay disciplined through the art of movement.

FAVORITE MOVIES:
I have a few favorite films that never get old: The Fifth Element, Tropic Thunder, the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man series, the Halloween franchise, and Ace Ventura. The list goes on, but those are some highlights!

FAVORITE MUSIC GENRES:
My taste in music is diverse. I enjoy 80s rock, R&B, hip hop, classical, jazz (especially smooth jazz), rock and roll, and more.
